Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Attention Defict/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Individuals with autism spectrum disorder make many important contributions in the workplace and some excel in fields like information technology and engineering. Due to these recognised contributions, some companies have initiated recruitment drives to attract employees with autism spectrum disorder. Within a team environment, however, individuals with autism may encounter some obstacles. The definition of autism spectrum disorder includes deficits in social communication, and as result, there may be misunderstandings with colleagues, supervisors or customers. At the same time, individuals on the autistic spectrum benefit from a work environment that allows for the adherence to routines and some privacy. Some organisation have reported progress in developing a work environment that avoids sensory overload and facilitates the productivity of individuals with autism spectrum disorder.

In a similar way, employees with ADHD face challenges as well. This includes the development of planning and workplace strategies that facilitate sustained attention and productivity. Our psychologists and ADHD coaches help to overcome processing deficits by use of attention and short-term memory training programs. In addition, we use a variety of relaxation and calming techniques to help with the hyperactivity comportment of ADHD.
